Re-discover the Great Southern Highway
The Great Southern Highway was an important route from York to Albany and was flanked by a busy railway. Together they created a line of prosperous farming and commercial towns which have been re-inventing themselves since the railway closed.
Along the way are famous bird, plant and animal nature reserves and the starting points for many of the gold tracks to the Ylgarn and Kalgoorlie goldfields.
Enjoy the attractive towns, the heritage architecture, the museums and art galleries, the restored railway stations, the coffee shops, pubs and the friendly people.
