Pioneer Challenge Rules
By applying to participate in the Pioneer Challenge all participants agree to be bound by the terms, conditions and rules of the Pioneer Challenge including the following:
- The challenge period will run continuously
- Teams of one to five participants may enter
- Teams may take part on one day, or over several days, within the challenge period
- All members of the public, including Rotarians, are entitled to enter
- Each team is required to nominate a start town and an end town along Route 120
- The start town and end town shall be at least three towns apart
- Each team is required to pay the entry fee, to participate
- Each team will randomly be allocated three pioneers in three towns
A team shall
- Photograph the headstones of its allocated pioneers
- Ensure that he pioneer's name on the headstone is readable in the photograph
- Upload the photograph and a comment about the pioneer's life to the Pioneer Challenge website
- Photograph something else they find interesting in each town
- Upload one photograph of each town, in addition to the photographs of the pioneers' headstones, to the Pioneer Challenge website
- Upload their answers to the town quiz and a short note on what they like about the town to the Pioneer Challenge website
Team members may work together, or may divide the tasks between themselves.
Any action, photograph or material that is disrespectful to a pioneer will cause the team to be disqualified.
The decision of the judges is final and there is no right of objection to any decision.
